Procurement Support Officer
Provide procurement, purchasing, and contract administration support within a State Government environment.
The Opportunity
A State Government Department is seeking a detail-oriented and professional Procurement Support Officer to join their team on a temporary basis. This role plays a key part in supporting procurement, purchasing, and contract management activities across the organisation.
Working closely with internal teams, members, customers, and stakeholders, you will assist with procurement processes, document control, and the development and maintenance of procurement procedures and supporting materials. About the Role
Key responsibilities include:
• Providing purchasing, procurement, administrative, and contract management support across the organisation
• Ordering materials and processing purchase orders, work orders, field release orders, and related documentation
• Assisting with the development, implementation, and monitoring of procurement instructions, procedures, guidelines, and standard forms
• Producing, updating, and maintaining procurement documentation and ensuring document control in conjunction with Quality Assurance
• Supporting procurement-related projects, including research, analysis, and reporting on alternative strategies, processes, and procedures
• Assisting with the development and delivery of procurement training and induction programs
• Coordinating contractor meetings, including scheduling, minutes, and presentation support
• Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of legislative and departmental procurement requirements
• Promoting procurement as a key business function across the department
• Demonstrating professionalism and positively contributing to team culture
About You
You are a highly organised and detail-focused administration or procurement professional who takes pride in accuracy, compliance, and effective stakeholder support.
You will bring:
• Demonstrated experience in procurement, purchasing, or administrative support roles
• High attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and data entry
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a structured environment
• Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• An understanding of procurement processes and governance requirements (highly regarded)
• A collaborative mindset and commitment to professionalism and continuous improvement
